HPUC wins $1.5 million in antitrust suit over HP computers

HP Computers, Inc. has agreed to pay $1 million to resolve a class action lawsuit over allegations that its business model was deceptive.

In its complaint, the Justice Department alleged that HP violated antitrust law by marketing its own PC computers and laptops to consumers as superior products.

The settlement, filed Monday, is subject to approval by a judge.

The Justice Department has not yet announced the terms of the settlement.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
