Microsoft: Computers are the next big thing
Microsoft is looking to move away from legacy devices to digital products to compete with Amazon, Google, Apple and others.
But one key challenge is getting users to actually buy hardware.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told the Wall Street Journal that the company plans to launch an app for Windows Phone in the fourth quarter of 2017.
But it’s not clear if that will launch a new version of Windows Phone 8, the platform that Microsoft has already launched for Android phones.
Nadell said that the goal is to bring devices to market faster, but that Microsoft would not announce a date for its Windows Phone app.
